Submit Blogger Sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools

If you want to achieve benefits of Organic SEO to get better search engine ranking then one of the most important thing is submitting sitemap to all search engines. Good thing is that Google Blogger v2 has 'sitemap.xml' file on the server and you can submit this files to search engines. Most of us think that sitemap submission is a difficult process and they can not be able to submit sitemap of their blogs successfully so they always look for a webmaster who can do this task for them. In this article I will cover entire process to submit sitemap to Google webmaster tools in less than 5 minutes. This task is most important and most searched topic on Google and other search engines. I have created a video tutorial to guide you in a better manner but I am also texting hereunder all the necessary steps.

Steps to submit Blogger sitemap to Google Webmaster -

1/ First land to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home?hl=en
2/ If you are not already Login to Google please do Login (if necessary)
3/ Now can find a list to blogs with thumbnails and blog urls



4/ Select one blog to submit sitemap
5/ Additional - if your blog is not in this list you can submit your blog by clicking red color ADD A SITE button appearing next to gear icon and then select this blog
6/ After selection of blog you can see Sitemaps ›› tab or heading; Now click on that



7/ After that you'll find ADD/TEST SITEMAP button in red color; Now Click on that



8/ After that you'll find blog url and a blank box; write 'sitemap.xml' without inverted commas.
9/ Now click on blue color Submit Sitemap button 
10/ After this action you'll get 'Refresh the page' message and click on this



Your all blog posts and pages have been submitted to Google search engine. Your blog posts and pages will be crawled within next 2 or 3 days. Then you'll be able to see number of pages indexed by Google search engine and other related stats.

Note:
'sitemap.xml' file is not available for those who are using custom domain for Blogger blogs. Actually this is a Blogger bug, I have reported this bug and it will be resolved soon. But in this case you can use Method 2 to submit sitemap. Method 2 will be published day after tomorrow.

1). Add Meta Description of Your Blog:-
Yes this is the old is gold method to get few more visitors to your blog here are those steps to add Meta Description to your blogspot blog.

Go to blogger.com<Log in< Click on the blog on which blog you wanna add this Tag<Click on Template then you will see two options over there one is Customize and another one is Edit HTML.

Now do the final steps click on "Edit HTML"

Then a popup window will open now, find the below script:-

If you are new to blogging world then may be your blog not get index on Yahoo, Google, Bing then you must submit your blog to these search engines get benefit of above two steps.

Yes but how would you come to know that your blog is get index on the search engines or not, actually there are many ways to come to know but I have written an article on this topic that how could you come to know about how many pages your blog index on the search engines.

Alexa.com is the top most tool to check website ranking. Being is blogger you must need to improve your alexa ranking because it shows the authority of your blog/website and even advertisers also check your alexa ranking to know about your blog traffic and page views before buying an ad space on your blog. Ranking under 100K is really good which shows the value of your blog. The first step to improve your ranking is to claim your site on alexa and submit your blog details. Below are some steps which you have to perform to submit your website in alexa.

1. Visit Alexa.com and create an account.


2. Now log in to your account. If you don't want to create new account then you can also log in with your facebook account.





3. Now go to alexa site owner page.


4. Now enter your blog/website domain name and click on Claim Your Site button as shown in below screenshot.



5. On the next page you will get all the plans and prices that alexa offers. As being a blogger I recommend you to choose Free plan. Click on Sign Up button under "Free Plan".




6. Once you click on sign up button, on the next page you will see two verification options.




7. If you are a blogspot user then choose Option 2 and add a meta tag in your blog template under <head> section. Before adding meta tag please backup your blog template.


8. After adding meta tag in your blog, go back to alexa and click on "Verify my ID" button.


9. If everything is right, you will receive a confirmation message like below picture.




10. Click on continue to add your site details. Fill all the details like your site title and description, alexa rank in country and fill your public contact information.


11. You are done!
