Restore Bookmarks in Firefox

1. Bring up the Bookmarks Manager Library by Clicking Bookmarks > Show All Book Marks.
2. Click on “ Import and Backup “ to see the drop down menu.
3. It is important to create a current backup of your existing bookmarks. (This is important!). For this click on “ Export Bookmarks to HTML “.


4. After creating the backup, Hover the mouse over “ Restore “ option this show you backups of bookmarks created by firefox on different dates.


5. Clicking on a date would restore the bookmarks but it overwrites the existing bookmarks. No worries, just import the bookmarks backed up earlier and you’re set to go.

There is another option for creating backup of the bookmarks file manually. For this you need to click the “ Backup “ option which shows up when you click on “ Import and Backup “ . The backup file would be saved in JSON format.
You will see an option below those bookmarks backup (see step 5) , to “ Choose File ” which will help you to restore the bookmarks using the json file.

Run Multiple Versions of Firefox By MultiFirefox At The Same Time.

MultiFirefox is a utility that permits you to operate multiple versions of Firefox all at the same time. So you can set up several profiles, for each version of Firefox. The application remembers your last launch preferences, has auto-updating feature and is a definite open source MIT licensed.

The application is available in Dutch and in English version. Whereas, the latest version available is 2.2.001. The application requires PPC / Intel, Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later and at least one version of Firefox.

For the ease of our readers, here is the step wise easy guideline. Just follow it and you will be trough with no problem.

Step 1: Launch MultiFirefox and create a profile. Now the application will automatically exit and launch its own profile manager. Once you have created the desired number of profiles, simply click Exit.

Step 2: Now launch the application again and you will see that all profiles that you made are listed. Here comes the application’s job. It will automatically detect different versions of Firefox and lists them.

Step 3:  Choose a profile and the version of Firefox and click on Launch Firefox.

And you are done!

It is of significance to note that you set the application to check for downloads automatically.

We would also want to highlight that the application will not permit you to run Firefox 3 and Firefox 4 consecutively. However, an easy way out is that you can exchange to some other version and thus avoid the conflict. Whereas, if used with only one version of Firefox, this is the easiest way to run multiple profiles.

Firefox 15 now comes with the ability to view PDF files without depending on any third party addons. Though firefox comes with PDF viewer built in, it is not enabled by default.

Enabling PDF Reader in Firefox 15

• Make sure you are using Firefox 15, Press Ctrl + T to open up a new Tab in firefox.
• Now in the address bar, type about:config and press Enter and you’ll be shown a warning before proceeding further. Click on ‘ I’ll be careful, I promise! ’.
• Type browser.preferences.inContent in the search bar to see the corresponding entry being displayed.
• Doubled Click on the entry to change its value from False to True.
• Similarly you’ll have to type pdfjs.disabled in search and change its value from True To False.
